Article: DAY OF THE ENTERPRISING WOMAN

DAY OF THE ENTERPRISING WOMAN

DAY OF THE ENTERPRISING WOMAN

November 19th is the day of the entrepreneurial woman, so we want to show you the origins of Micuir from the hand of our passionate CEO, Elena.

In a recent interview with Cherubina, he shared how it all it all began, from the first designs to becoming the brand we know today. Her vision and and dedication have been the common thread thread of our history.

How did the idea of Micuir come up?

The creation of Micuir arises from my desire to fly solo, to experience the freedom of trusting my own instinct and the passion to design exclusive products that I could not find in the market. My goal is to reflect the tradition and craftsmanship of Spanish master artisans in my unique and personal designs.

Coas a businesswoman, do you think that "made in Spain" is valued?

Of course. Our customers perceive the quality and care with which it is manufactured in Spain. Micuir is a brand eco-friendly which literally means "My Leather" so all the bags and shoes in the collection are handmade in Spain in leather of the highest quality.

What are your future challenges within the brand?
My dream is to expand Micuir International and make the Spain brand known around the world.

What is Micuir's audience?

A woman conscious of what she buys, stylish and elegant, who bets on quality, exclusive designs and who flees from going all uniformed by what the big fashion companies dictate. A restless woman, who bets on a job well done and values the ethical work behind each piece. In short, a woman with values, coherent and with a unique personality.

What inspires you when designing products?

I really believe that inspiration comes from many places, you can be inspired by an exhibition, by the paintings in a museum, by the wardrobe of a movie, by travels, by unique experiences... My latest Corso Como collection came from an inspiring trip to Milan and reflects the sophistication of the Milanese woman. The inspiration does not come from a single place, it is a set of personal experiences.

What does slow fashion mean to you?

Micuir is one of the first Spanish brands that touches the concept of slow fashion. I always say that each design is like a child, because it takes 9 months to get to market. That's why our firm is slow fashion, because we are not in a hurry in the processes because slow fire, with love and passion is how things are done well in life.

First I start with the initial sketch on paper for both shoes and bags and this sketch comes to life in the first sample, then on that first sample are made changes and corrections of fit, style, tested on different people to assess the comfort, support, etc. and finally choose the skins, buckles, ornaments and combinations of textures of the skins that will give life to each design, so no two are alike and small runs are made to protect the exclusivity of Micuir designs.

Tell us about your favorite design.

In every design I create, I ask myself if it meets Micuir's three premises: maximum quality, exclusive design and attention to every detail. I think this is what really makes the difference. My favorite design, the one I am most fond of, are our iconic Punky boots, which are the brand's insignia.

What measures does the brand take to minimize environmental impact?

Micuir is an ecofriendly company. We are very aware of sustainability and respect for the environment in the manufacturing process. All our bags and shoes are handmade, with recycled leather from the food sector and the manufacturing process respects the environment. We have a goal of zero stock in order not to generate waste in our commitment to sustainable fashion with few limited edition units. For this reason, we do not replace most of our designs once they are sold out.
