Article: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS' DAY

DÍA DE LA MUJER EMPRENDEDORA

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS' DAY

November 19th is the day of the female entrepreneur, that's why we want to show you the origins of Micuir with the help of our passionate CEO, Elena.

In a recent interview with Cherubina shared how  It all began there, from the initial designs to becoming the brand we know today. Their vision and dedication have been the thread driver of our story.

How did the idea for Micuir come about?

The creation of Micuir stems from my desire to fly solo, to experience the freedom of trusting my own instincts, and from a passion for designing exclusive products that I couldn't find on the market. My goal is to reflect the tradition and craftsmanship of Spanish master artisans in my unique and personal designs.

As a businesswoman, do you think the "Made in Spain" ?

Of course. Our customers perceive the quality and care with which it is manufactured in Spain. Micuir is a brand eco-friendly which literally means "My Leather" so all the bags and shoes in the collection are handcrafted in Spain from the highest quality leather.

What challenges do you foresee for yourself in the future within the brand?
My dream is to expand Micuir Internacional and promote the "Made in Spain" brand worldwide.

Who is Micuir's target audience?

A woman who is conscious of her purchases, stylish and elegant, who values quality and exclusive designs, and who refuses to conform to the dictates of large fashion companies. A woman who is driven, who appreciates quality craftsmanship and values the ethical practices behind each piece. In short, a woman of principle, consistent, and with a unique personality.

What inspires you when designing products?

I truly believe that inspiration comes from many sources. You can find inspiration in an exhibition, in the paintings of a museum, in the costumes of a film, in travel, in unique experiences… My latest collection , Corso Como, emerged from an inspiring trip to Milan and reflects the sophistication of the Milanese woman. Inspiration doesn't come from just one place; it's a collection of personal experiences.

What does slow fashion mean to you?

Micuir is one of the first Spanish brands to embrace the concept of slow fashion. I always say that each design is like a child, as it takes nine months to reach the market. That's why our brand is slow fashion, because we don't rush the process; things in life are done well slowly, with care and passion.

First, I start with the initial sketch on paper for both the shoes and the bags, and this sketch comes to life in the first sample. Then, based on that first sample, changes and corrections are made to the fit and style. It is tested on different people to assess comfort, support, etc. Finally, the leathers, buckles, embellishments, and combinations of leather textures that will bring each design to life are chosen. That's why no two are alike, and small batches are manufactured to protect the exclusivity of Micuir designs.

Tell us about your favorite design.

With every design I create, I ask myself if it meets Micuir's three core principles: top quality, exclusive design, and meticulous attention to detail. I believe this is what truly makes the difference. My favorite design, the one I'm most fond of, is our iconic Punky boots, which are the brand's signature.

What measures does the brand take to minimize its environmental impact?

Micuir is an eco-friendly brand. We prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility throughout our manufacturing process. All our bags and shoes are handcrafted using recycled leather from the food industry, and our production methods are environmentally friendly. We aim for zero stock to minimize waste in our commitment to sustainable fashion, producing limited-edition pieces in small quantities. For this reason, we don't restock most of our designs once they sell out.
