That was precisely the feeling Elena Peña, a Madrid native and fashion expert, had four years ago. She left a stable job and created her own handcrafted footwear brand.

Micuir is more than just shoes, boots, or accessories. Behind it lies a sustainable brand made up of Spanish artisans who create pieces with a "slow fashion" touch. Details that make the difference

We'll start with two fun facts. The first, if you're a member of our Micuir Gang (women who own a Micuir in their closets), you probably already know. But just in case there's anyone who's missed it or you've just discovered us, we'll tell you. The name Micuir comes from combining the Spanish pronoun "mi" and the French word "cuir," which means "leather." Surprised? Our brand has been a statement of intent from the very beginning. 

The second part focuses on the process of making our shoes. It's a process involving up to 44 Spanish artisans. Salva, Mayte, Victor… Each one of them handcrafts the last of our shoes (exclusive to Micuir), attaches the heel, polishes the shoe, and performs other meticulous manufacturing processes. All with a single goal: to deliver a unique piece, crafted with great care, to your hands.

But we'll reveal one more detail: each Micuir is registered with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM). We want to show you that our commitment to exclusivity is real. Your Micuir will always be unique.

If there's one thing the Micuir Gang agrees on, it's the longevity of our shoes and bags, which, like fine wine, only get better with age. This is all thanks to the use of high-quality leathers that acquire a more beautiful appearance over time. It's the magic of handcrafted footwear.

As the saying goes: dress me slowly, I'm in a hurry. A principle that has held true for decades in the artisanal production of Spanish footwear. 

That's why all our designs are crafted with meticulous care, taking up to nine months to develop each one. And yes, perhaps we're going against the grain in a world where immediacy and haste are the norm. But we're aware that this "fast fashion" is what's killing our planet.
