We always say that our #MicuirGang is made up of extraordinary women. One of them is Laura, founder of El Sueño de Vicky. Today we want to tell you her story.
But first, here's a fact:
Did you know that childhood cancer is considered a rare disease? This is because its incidence is one child for every 300 adults.
Because it is a rare disease, there is very little public funding available, and most of the resources come from private initiatives. As a company, at Micuir we feel the need to give back to society for everything it has given us in making our dream possible. That's why, this Christmas, we want to help fulfill Vicky's dream once again.
RESEARCH, THE KEY TO DEFEATING CHILDHOOD CANCER
Eighty percent of children with cancer overcome the disease. And that is certainly something to celebrate. It's a figure that gives us hope. Despite this, we cannot forget the other 20%.
Vicky is among that 20%. Five years ago, she lost her battle with a brain tumor. Since then, her mother, Laura, has been fighting to fulfill her dream: raising funds for childhood cancer research. Something we can only achieve if we all join forces.
