Stars in solidarity against childhood cancer
We always say that our #MicuirGang is made up of extraordinary women. One of them is Laura, founder of El Sueño de Vicky. Today we want to tell you her story.
But first, here's a fact:
Did you know that childhood cancer is considered a rare disease? This is because its incidence is one child for every 300 adults.
As it is a rare disease, there are hardly any public subsidies and most of the funds come from private initiatives. As a company, at Micuir we feel the need to give back to society everything it has given us by making our dream possible. That is why, for yet another Christmas, we want to help make Vicky's dream come true.
RESEARCH, THE KEY TO BEATING CHILDHOOD CANCER
Eighty per cent of children with cancer overcome the disease. And that is certainly something to celebrate. It is a figure that invites us to hope. However, we can't help but think of the other 20%.
Vicky is one of those 20%. Five years ago, she lost her battle against the brain tumour she was suffering from. Since then, her mother, Laura, has been fighting to fulfil her dream: to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Something we can only achieve if we all join forces.
FULFILLING VICKY'S DREAM
Without a doubt, December is the month when children fulfil their dreams. It is a magical time for all the little ones. And we want to do our bit once again. To do so, we have the help of a very special gift in solidarity against childhood cancer.
